One of my favorite sayings of all time is the one in today’s printable.
As things get bigger in Dallas and Collin County, the city and events that it offers gets busier. And although, it offers us a massive amount of opportunities and options, I find it important to stay true to what makes me the happiest. Here is a great article from Inc from the fantastic Jeff Haden:
7 Things Remarkably Happy People Do Often
I don’t necessarily agree with #1, the more friends does not equal more happiness as I believe you are the sum of the 5 people you surround yourself. I choose carefully who is in my inner circle.
And point #7 is really really important to me! Living on purpose is essential and that takes a daily practice of saying No to most things. For me, being on a slow movement path as a digital marketer has been an amazing path for me. Choosing outdoor adventures as my “happy hour” and thought leader events around town and the country adds more value than aimlessly consuming stuff. Every single day, I am asked to attend parties, events, gatherings and if they don’t fit in with my purpose, I just say no thanks. Its not always well-received but its my life and I choose to do more of what makes me happy =)
